Eligibility criteria for paid tickets – Artists

Midburn 2016 has been limited by decision of the event organizers to 7500 participants. Along with this decision, it was also decided that an amount of 550 tickets priced 580 NIS each will be allotted to artists and art installations. It should also be clarified that the tickets are intended for team members active in planning, building and construction of those installations. We desire to save the teams the difficulty of obtaining tickets, along with keeping a fair and equal distribution that takes the needs of the art installation into account.

Art teams can get ticket allotments provided they meet the criteria listed below.

The method

After the artists complete the “Potion ingredients” phase (characterization[1] and management [2] of the project), the projects will be divided into three levels of complexity based on the submitted information. The art department guidelines for classification are:

The physical dimensions of the installation and construction method.
The team size required for the construction and work before the event.
The scope of the different disciplines which constitute the team, acting in parallel with each other (tech, lighting, art, metalworking, woodworking, etc.).

The strategy for allotment of tickets:
Tickets will be allotted based on need and up to a maximum of:
Art installations at complexity level C – 8 tickets
Art installations at complexity level B – 5 tickets
Art installations at complexity level A – 3 tickets

Allocation of tickets will be performed in two phases:

Phase A: On Mar 12th there will be an initial allotment reserved to project leaders (1-3 tickets), for projects meeting the following minimum requirements:

  1. Full submission of the first stage: “Elixir Components” (characterization and project management step)
  2. An existing and active Midburn profile
  3. Compliance with Art Department requirements and deadlines

Phase B: Allotment of the rest of the tickets will be based on a key and only to those who fulfill the following requirements:
1. Completion of the “Transformation” phase ( Submission of the safety portfolio[3]).
2. Compliance with Art Department requirements and deadlines
* If any unallocated tickets will remain after phase A, artists will be given an option to apply for additional tickets, based on the number of active team members and the requirements of the art installation. Distribution of the tickets will be made according to the submitted needs and the ratio between the total and the remaining tickets available for allotment.
