Unbirthday camp – Midburn

A theme camp is a group of Midburners who come together to create and host an interactive experience that’s open to all citizens of the Midburn City. Theme camps can put on music shows and dance performances, hold workshops or lectures, build chill-out zones and craft corners, run bars or food stands or anything else that the city may enjoy.

Theme camps are an integral part of Burning Man, Midburn and any other burn because they catalyze interaction. But keep in mind, creating a theme camp requires commitment and hard work. All participants are invited to create a camp around their idea, or theme, that complies with the Ten Principles.

Why join a camp?

Building a theme camp can be extremely fun and fulfilling. It’s an opportunity to come together with friends, make something amazing, and share it with the city. Your camp is more than your home in the city; it’s the manifestation of your vision, that becomes part of the beating heart of Midburn.
Theme camps are all about participation, one of the 10 main principles at the core of our culture:

“Our community is committed to a radically participatory ethic. We believe that transformative change, whether in the individual or in society, can occur only through the medium of deeply personal participation. We achieve being through doing. Everyone is invited to work. Everyone is invited to play. We make the world real through actions that open the heart.

Implement the principle of participation and join a camp!
